Dr. Alexandria Gonzalez
Dr. Alexandria Gonzalez is a Licensed Psychologist, fluent in both English and Spanish, dedicated to offering comprehensive assessment and treatment for a diverse range of emotional, health, and behavioral concerns. These include, but are not limited to, depression, anxiety/ stress management, life-transitions, grief, and LGBTQAI+-related issues. She has expertise in behavioral medicine and extensive experience working with individuals and their families to better understand, cope with, and manage conditions like chronic pain, sleep difficulties, diabetes, gastrointestinal distress, weight, and reproductive concerns. Dr. Gonzalez provides services to children, adolescents, and adults utilizing a patient-centered and integrative approach, drawing from evidence-based treatments such as Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (CBT), Acceptance and Commitment Therapy (ACT), Interpersonal Psychotherapy (IPT), Biofeedback, and Pain Reprocessing Therapy (PRT). She is committed to cultivating a secure, non-judgmental, and supportive environment, where collaborative goal-setting leads to successful outcomes.
Dr. Gonzalez earned a Bachelor of Art degree with a major in Psychology from the University of Miami. She then obtained her Master of Science and Doctorate in Clinical Psychology from Nova Southeastern University. Dr. Gonzalez went on to complete a doctoral internship at the University of Florida and a post-doctoral fellowship at the James A. Haley Veteran’s Hospital. She is also a graduate of the Pain Reprocessing Therapy Certification Training and one of a select few clinicians in South Florida qualified to offer this treatment model to those suffering from chronic pain.
Currently, Dr. Gonzalez offers telehealth and in-person services at the Hollywood/Behavioral Medicine and Weston locations.
