PPA Summer Camps 2017 Come Join Us!
Emotion Detectives: The Unified Protocol for Children and Teens- Aventura Group to start in March 2017
The Unified Protocol for Children: Emotion Detectives is a scientifically–based group intervention
program for children who are exhibiting symptoms of anxiety, depression or challenges with emotional regulation.
Who: 3rd grade – 5th grade. Some parent involvement is required.
What: The Unified Protocol for Children: Emotion Detectives is an evidence-based treatment
for children with mood and anxiety disorders.
Where: Pediatric Psychology Associates: Aventura (Group and Individual) & Weston Locations (Individual
services offered)
When: Group Thursdays, 5:30 pm to 6:30 pm in Aventura location (Must have 4 participants to start group)
Why: To learn emotional regulation skills to reduce symptoms of anxiety and depression
Facilitator: Dr. Kelly Painter, Post-Doctoral Psychology Resident
Fee: $600 for 12 weeks. No charge 30-minute initial consultation.

Social Skills Intensive Camp in Coral Gables week of July 11-15th, 2016
Are you interested in boosting your child’s social skills? Come join us for a full week of skills in a fun and interactive environment!
We are pleased to announce that we will be holding our social skills intensive camp again this summer.
The dates are Monday-Friday, July 11-15. Cost for camp is $350 with a maximum of 6 campers per session.
For ages 7-10, times are 9 am to 12 pm. For ages 11-13, times are 1 pm to 4 pm (the afternoon program is closed). Program is run by Dr. Lauren Carbonell and Ms. Melissa Balgobin.
A typical social skills intensive camp day will include:
Social Skill Lessons- Perspective taking, frustration tolerance, learning to make friends, joining in & conversational skills
Movement-Self-regulation, self-awareness, motor coordination, collaboration & confidence
Science Experiments– Problem solving, organization, team building, predicting & sequencing
Manners/Snack or Cooking time-Social graces & life skills
Facilitated Unstructured Play-Practice flexibility & turn taking

Eating Disorders Support Group in Weston
No cost support group open to family members and friends of loved ones of all ages struggling with an Eating Disorder. Group run the 3rd Thursday of every month from 6:30-8:00pm. Click flyer for more details.
Group for Teens with Type I Diabetes
